Lake Havasu City is a
hands-on community!
Annual K-12 Foundation Projects
- The Academic Recognition Banquet held in May, for
excelling students, teachers and their parents.
We are in our fourth year for this annual event. This is an exciting
time in the lives of all graduating seniors and the K-12 Foundation
honors 20 students, who have distinguished themselves as the “Best
of their Class”. We also recognize and honor the distinguished
teachers who have motivated, mentored, and educated these young
people. The teachers are in the trenches everyday striving for
excellence, and challenging our students to be the best they can be.
We salute them for their efforts. We also offer a special thanks to
our numerous sponsors and donors who make this event possible. The
generosity of our Lake Havasu citizens and businesses is to be
commended, as they continuously share their resources supporting our
youth and the K-12 Foundation.
- Participating in many community events with booth displays where
we build our coffers with annual memberships of $25 for a
family/individual and $1,000 for a business and supporters
purchasing parts of the miniature mobile schoolhouse.
- Local car dealership promotions in August, where they
donate a portion of each new and used car sale to the foundation.
Anderson Chrysler donated $5,000 in 2007 through their car sales
promotion.
- Little Red School House Promotion, held in the fall where
local businesses sell paper cutouts of the schoolhouse for $1.00.
Watch for these to pop up at your local merchants and help us by
purchasing one while in line at the checkout.
- The Teacher Appreciation Event, held in September, in
which all teachers are invited to attend - FREE of charge. Community
businesses donate large and small prizes such as desks, chairs, boat
rentals, reams of paper, office supplies and many gift certificates.
We have over 200 teachers participate in the event!
- The annual Taste of Havasu, held in October during London
Bridge Days, featuring over 2 dozen local restaurants, local
entertainment and fun! This annual project has become another
"Signature Event" for the K-12 Foundation and draws well over 1000
people from the community.
